Stand-downs and suspensions
Cases per 1,000 students in 2025, adjusted for the ages of the school’s students, compared with all New Zealand schools.
Suspensions: fewer than 5 cases in 2025, so no rate is shown.
These measure how a school responds to behaviour, and schools set their own thresholds, so they are not a measure of how students behave.
What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from May 2026. ERO found success and progress increasing for all learners, with high quality teaching in reading, writing and mathematics.
A large majority of learners meet or exceed expected curriculum levels in reading and writing, and most do so in mathematics. ERO noted a project-based, interest-led curriculum, well-supported learners with complex needs, te reo and tikanga Māori woven through classroom life, and a board whose spending lines up with its priorities.
Writing results are not yet equitable across groups of learners, and while a large majority of learners attend regularly, chronic absence is not yet coming down. ERO’s priorities are to lift regular attendance to the Government’s 80% target, strengthen how writing is assessed and taught, and set sharper English and mathematics targets for groups of learners who are behind.

Enrolling
Students who live in the home zone have the right to enrol at any time. Out-of-zone places are offered under the school’s enrolment scheme, and if there are more applicants than places, students are chosen by ballot. Frankley posts the out-of-zone places on offer and any ballot date on its enrolment zone page each year.
Families start with the school’s pre-enrolment form, online or from the office, and the school asks new entrant families to pre-enrol well ahead of their start date. Visits to meet the teachers and see the classroom can be arranged with the school.
