What ERO found
The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a School Report from April 2026. ERO found success and progress increasing for all learners, with good quality teaching and well-established planning.
Most learners meet or exceed expected curriculum levels in reading and a large majority do so in writing and mathematics, with equitable results in reading and mathematics. ERO noted schoolwide structured literacy teaching, newly introduced literacy assessments, good support for learners with complex needs, and a welcoming environment for whānau. The school recently extended to Year 8.
Writing results are not yet equitable, with boys a continuing focus, and only a small majority of learners attend regularly. ERO’s priorities are to lift attendance to the Government’s 80% target, raise achievement and equity in writing with revised targets, and build teachers’ use of assessment to match learning to each child’s needs.

Enrolling
Children who live in the home zone are guaranteed a place. When in-zone enrolments leave room, the school offers some out-of-zone places, advertises the number each year and allocates them by ballot, with siblings of current and former students given priority.
Families apply through the online enrolment form linked from the enrolment page, and zoned families need to show proof of address. New entrant families can arrange an induction visit through the office.
