What ERO found

The Education Review Office’s latest report on the school is a Te Ara Huarau School Profile Report from May 2023. This kind of report sets out what ERO and the school will evaluate together rather than rating results, and here the focus is how well the school’s integrated curriculum, designed over several years with students, teachers, whānau and iwi, leads to fair and strong outcomes for every student.

ERO noted that the school then ran one bilingual class, that leaders guide change together in line with agreed goals, that learning partnerships are actively involved in designing and reviewing the curriculum, and that the written curriculum sets clear expectations for teaching and learning.

Next, the school planned to give teachers more relevant professional learning and chances to share practice so the integrated curriculum is delivered well, and to gather views from parents, staff and whānau to judge how well it is working for all students.
